Q: I own a home that has gone into foreclosure. What should I do?

A: You should take action as soon as possible. There are several resources that you can access. They are as follow:

  • HOPE Hotline: 1-888-995-HOPE or www.995hope.org: This group can provide foreclosure counseling over the phone and connect you to a local organization if you need further assistance. This is a good first step if you are facing foreclosure or at risk.
  • Homeownership Option for Massachusetts Elders: 1-800-583-5337 or www.home-ma.org: This group provide Elder Homeowner Protection for people over the age of 60, or over the age of 50 if you are at risk of losing your home.
